Manage Parking Spaces

Note

This feature is only available to users with an Admin role.

Once you have created a level, you can then add the parking spaces to it. If you have created zones, then any of the configured parking spaces can be associated to a zone but this is optional.

Adding parking spaces to a level

From the left-hand navigation bar, click the Manage Car Parks menu item.

Locate your car park in the list and click its associated Levels button to display any levels currently configured for that car park.

Locate your level in the list and click its associated Parking Spaces button to display any parking spaces currently configured for that level. Each parking space is displayed with its Name, Description, Zone (if associated to one), Capacity, Availability and its associated action buttons.

List of parking spaces on the level

Clicking the Add Parking space button will allow you to configure one or more parking spaces.

  • enter a parking space name - the number of the parking space will be appended to this name
  • enter a parking space description
  • configure parking space availability:
    • if set to True, the parking space will be available for users to book
    • if set to False, it will not be available for bookings and will appear highlighted amber in the parking space list (as F2-PK1 above)
  • if zones have been configured for this level, then they will appear in the dropdown list of zones; you then have the option to assign this parking space to a particular zone or not - associating a parking space to a zone will mean that it will be returned if users search for parking spaces within this zone. If a zone is restricted to specific users, then so are its associated parking spaces
  • enter parking space range 1 - number of first parking space in range
  • enter parking space range 2 - number of last parking space in range
Note

Parking space Range equates to how many parking spaces you would like to add. All the parking spaces will be exactly the same except for their parking space name. So, for example, entering a parking space name of 'PK', a starting range of '1' and an ending range of '5', will create 5 parking spaces named PK1, PK2, PK3, PK4 and PK5.

Add A Parking space

Click the Save button to add the parking space(s) to the level.

Note that these parking spaces will be returned in booking searches provided their availability is set to True.

Importing parking spaces to a level

This facility allows admins to bulk import multiple parking spaces directly to a level via an uploaded .csv file.

First create a csv file containing all your parking space information for that level in the following format:

  • click the Browse button, navigate to and select your .csv file

Note that these parking spaces will be returned in booking searches provided their availability is set to True.

Changing the availability of parking spaces

At any point you can update the availability of the configured parking spaces.

Each parking space listed on a level displays an associated Change Availability button which when clicked will toggle the availability of a parking space either on or off without having to edit its details.

If the parking space is set to False then clicking the Change Availability button will set it to True and vice versa.

  • if set to True, the parking space will be available for users to book
  • if set to False, it will not be available for bookings and will appear highlighted amber in the parking space list
