Enhancements

Technology refresh

The service was upgraded from .Net 6.0 to .Net 8.0, the latest long term support version from Microsoft. This will extend technology support for the server components from November 2024 to November 2026.

Note

The technology (Vue) used for the browser user interface will require a refresh before the end of 2024. This will be a major upgrade and should be considered in the next change request to reduce the cost of regression testing.

Various under the hood security improvements.

Change requests

Improved email validation

Measures have been implemented to ensure that the validated email is used for the transaction application.

Duplicate Submissions

To prevent duplicate applications being generated, only allowing one application for a validated email address.

Timeout Indication

Added an indication of session timeout on the initial 'Appeal a Decision' step.

Also timeout message during application should the step not be completed within the configured time frame.

The timeout is currently set to 1 hour but can be changed by Service Request.

Validation Text Field (FD#6389)

Added hint text that identifies and displays which characters are invalid.

Appeals Service API's

The Appeals service API's have undergone a technology upgrade. With this change, the Service URL, and so the Swagger has moved/changed. It will however call to the old URL therefore no change to current functionality.
