Add Appeal

The 'Add Appeal' functionality enables administrators to log paper/letter appeals online that have been received in the post.

To begin adding the appeal, select the date the paper/letter appeal was received from TAS.

Select from the dropdown list the form category for the appeal type received and click begin.

The user will be redirected to the Submit Appeal flow for the form type selected.

Add NAO1 (SS) Appeal Type

To Submit a NAO1 (SS) Appeal navigate through the following online steps;

  • To upload the Mandatory Reconsideration Notice, click 'Add Files.'
  • To select the date the Mandatory Reconsideration Notice was sent, click 'Pick a Date.'
  • Select the name of the benefit you are appealing about from the dropdown list.
  • Click 'Next' to proceed.

Appellant

  • Select the Appellant title from the dropdown list
  • Enter First Name, Surname, National Insurance Number, Daytime Phone Number, Mobile Phone Number and Email into the associated text boxes.
  • To select the appellant's DOB, click 'Pick a Date.'
  • To select the appellants Address, click 'Select,' use the post code lookup or enter the address manually.
  • Click 'Next' to proceed.

Grounds

Shared step NAO1 (SS/CM/CR/HMRC/HSC)

  • Using the free text box, enter grounds for appeal.
  • To upload supporting evidence, click 'Add Files.'
  • Click 'Next' to proceed.

Time

  • Select Yes or No using the radio buttons to answer 'Is your appeal late?'
  • If 'No,' click 'Next' to proceed
  • If 'Yes,' using the additional free text box and file upload button displayed advise why the appeal is late.
  • Click 'Next,' to proceed.

  • Enter Name of organisation, Daytime Phone Number, Mobile Phone Number, Email and Representative's Ref Number into the associated text boxes.
  • Select Yes or No using the radio buttons to answer 'Do you know the name of your representative?'
  • If 'No,' continue
  • If 'Yes,' using the additional fields displayed on screen, input representative name.
  • To select the representative's Address, click 'Select,' use the post code lookup or enter the address manually.
  • Click 'Next,' to proceed.

Save Appeal

Before an appeal can be saved all mandatory fields on screen must be completed.

To save an inprogress appeal, click the 'Save' button at the bottom of the screen.

This will redirect the user, to the 'Proxy In Progress Appeals' tab on the left hand menu. Please see Proxy In Progress Appeals User Guide
